Community Development Academy

New training webinars coming soon.

The new and improved Community Development Academy (CDA) focuses on intersectional training leading to equitable outcomes in community and economic development. As an equity-centered program, the CDA educates and empowers community advocates and practitioners alike to take a leadership role in civic and community engagement. As opposed to the Capacity Building Institute (CBI) which is designed to deepen expertise within a specific discipline, the CDA helps emphasize interdisciplinary work to broaden understanding of the various channels within the field.

Our Academy is an inclusive environment and welcomes members and/or the public to participate. The thoughtfully curated content includes introductory and advance level training on numerous topics and is catered to the local landscape and current events. We frequently survey our members for feedback on training needs and interests to develop content that is both timely and accessible. Outcomes of the program include a better educated and connected development pool, strong networks and community partnerships, and a South Florida where community advocates, practitioners, and allies are familiar with and value all the facets that makeup impactful comprehensive development.

If you are interested in volunteering as a subject-matter expertise (SME) please review our call for volunteers. If you have recommendations or requests for additional webinar or seminar topics, please contact us at info@sfcdcoalition.org.
