Community Development Academy

Our Community Development Academy (CDA) focuses ondis multidisciplinary training leading to equitable outcomes in community and economic development. As an equity-centered program, the CDA helps practitioners and community advocates alike to take an active role in civic and community engagement. The CDA is complimentary to the Capacity Building Institute (CBI) which is designed to deepen expertise within a specific discipline, whereas the CDA emphasizes exposure across disciplines to broaden understanding of the various channels within the field by covering various technical topics.

Our Academy is an inclusive environment and welcomes members and/or public stakeholders to participate. The curated content includes introductory and advance level training is catered to the local landscape and current events. We frequently survey our members for feedback on training needs and interests to develop content that is both timely and accessible. Outcomes of the program include a better educated and connected development pool, strong networks and community partnerships, and a South Florida where community advocates, practitioners, and allies are familiar with and value all the facets that makeup impactful comprehensive development.

If you are interested in volunteering as a subject-matter expertise (SME) please review our call for volunteers. If you have recommendations or requests for additional webinar or seminar topics, please contact us at info@sfcdcoalition.org.
