Community Development Fellows

SFCDC is proud to help cultivate the next generation of local community development practitioners and advocates. In 2023, we are a piloting a new fellowship program for college students and recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience in our local ecosystem. This program is designed to provide a pathway for real world experience to develop soft and technical skills that are transferable and valuable to pursuing a career in community development field, whether public, private, or nonprofit sectors. Applications for 2024 are currently closed. Please check back periodically or subscribe to our newsletter to stay tuned.

We accept 3-5 fellows twice a year who will work with our coalition approximately 10-15 hours per week over a six month. In addition to their roles where each fellow will gain hands-on real world experience working in a nonprofit organization, the fellows work on specific projects to learn more about community development and help advance our mission. These projects can be customized to fit course or program capstone requirements if needed. Fellows receive a complimentary one-year membership to the coalition and are encouraged to attend programs and events for greater exposure and networking opportunities (which may not qualify towards fellowship hours, terms and conditions apply).
